Hailing from the quiet town of Solan in the Indian Himalayas, Sutej Singh has emerged as one of India's leading progressive rock guitarists and composers.

Renowned for blending technical precision with cinematic songwriting, his music bridges the worlds of progressive rock, post-rock and Indian musical influences, creating expansive instrumental compositions that are both emotionally resonant and technically accomplished.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as John Petrucci, David Gilmour and Jeff Beck, Sutej has steadily developed a musical voice that is distinctly his own. His compositions balance soaring melodies, intricate guitar work and atmospheric soundscapes, earning him recognition among progressive music audiences both in India and abroad.

His debut album, The Emerging (2018), reached No. 1 on the Apple Music India Rock Charts and featured collaborations with internationally acclaimed musicians including Peter Henningsson, Scott Higham, Raymond Hearne, Kylan Amos and Gina Luciani. The record established Sutej as one of the country's most promising instrumental artists and received praise from publications including Progressive Music Planet, Metal Injection and Rolling Stone India for its songwriting, musicianship and cinematic scope.

His sophomore album, Restless | Relentless, marked a significant artistic evolution. Described by Apple Music as "the work of a man refreshed and ready to take it to the next level," the record expands upon Sutej's progressive foundations while introducing stronger cinematic textures and Indian classical influences. Tracks such as Kaadambari & Mayflower demonstrate his ability to seamlessly merge technical guitar playing with emotionally driven compositions, resulting in music that is as expressive as it is virtuosic.

In recent years, Sutej has established himself as one of the most compelling live instrumental acts in the country. He has performed at some of India's most respected festivals, including Independence Rock, Bandland, Ziro Festival and Oddball Festival, and in 2023 opened for legendary guitarist Steve Vai in Bengaluru and Mumbai. His live performances are immersive and dynamic, combining technical musicianship with an evolving stage production that places equal emphasis on atmosphere, storytelling and audience connection.

Alongside his live work, Sutej's international audience has grown rapidly. His music has generated millions of views across digital platforms, with more than three million views on Instagram, over one million YouTube views, and a steadily expanding global fanbase spanning Europe, North America and Asia. This growing international reach has positioned him as one of the most recognised contemporary progressive rock artists to emerge from India.

As Sutej enters the next chapter of his career, he continues to build on this momentum through new music, international collaborations and an expanding touring footprint. With a distinctive artistic identity and a reputation for emotionally powerful performances, he represents a new generation of progressive musicians bringing Indian artistry to audiences around the world.
